KiranaPro, a quick commerce platform integrated with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), has acquired augmented reality startup Likeo in an all-stock deal valued at $1 million. This strategic acquisition is set to supercharge KiranaPro’s BLACK app, a fashion-centric platform built for Gen Z shoppers, by integrating AI-powered virtual try-on experiences.

Key Highlights of the Acquisition

  • Likeo’s visual computing tech will be embedded into the BLACK app to enable virtual fittings for fashion, jewelry, and eyewear.
  • This makes BLACK India’s first fashion app to feature fully integrated, AI-led virtual try-ons.
  • The feature rollout will begin with select users over the next few weeks, starting with early access for fashion and accessories.

Why This Move Matters

  • Virtual try-ons aim to:
    • Reduce product returns
    • Improve customer satisfaction
    • Offer an immersive, personalized, and frictionless shopping experience
  • Likeo’s founder and CEO, Saurav Kumar, will join KiranaPro’s leadership team to lead AI and visual computing initiatives.

Leadership Perspectives

“BLACK is not just an app — it’s a cultural movement,” said Deepak Ravindran, Founder and CEO of KiranaPro.
“With Likeo’s technology, we’re offering a mirrorless shopping journey that is both fun and highly personalized.”

“With BLACK, we finally have a canvas to scale this to millions,” added Saurav Kumar.
“This partnership gives us the platform to make online shopping more playful, expressive, and real.”

About the Companies

  • KiranaPro:
    • Operates on a no-commission, ad-led model
    • Provides 10-minute delivery to local kirana stores
    • Serves both B2B (neighborhood retailers) and D2C markets via specialized verticals like BLACK
  • Likeo:
    • Originally launched as a Gen Z-focused shopping platform
    • Specialized in AI stylists, fast delivery, and virtual fitting rooms
    • Now embedded within BLACK to scale its tech to a larger user base

What’s Next

  • BLACK will continue expanding its Likeo-powered features into more product categories over the coming months.
  • KiranaPro sees AI and visual intelligence as central to BLACK’s long-term strategy, especially for Gen Z users who prefer video-first, interactive shopping environments.
