In a significant stride towards enhancing pet healthcare in India, Chennai-based startup MimiBowBow is pioneering the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Founded by Dr. Ajmal Dastagir and John Paul, the company aims to make veterinary care more accessible, efficient, and proactive for pet owners across the country.

Key Highlights

  • AI-Powered Diagnostics with Pet Scan Pro: MimiBowBow has developed Pet Scan Pro, India’s first AI-driven pet health scanning tool. This innovative solution allows pet owners to use their smartphones to scan their pets’ skin, teeth, eyes, bones, or joints. Within a minute, the AI analyzes the images against a database of over 2.5 million real-time MRI scans, detecting more than 40 medical conditions with 95% accuracy.
  • Seamless Veterinary Consultations: Post-scan, the app facilitates direct consultations with registered veterinary doctors. This feature ensures that pet parents receive timely medical advice based on accurate diagnostic reports, eliminating the guesswork often associated with symptom descriptions.
  • Empowering Veterinarians: Beyond assisting pet owners, MimiBowBow supports veterinarians by providing AI-backed diagnostic reports, enabling remote consultations and expanding their reach, especially in areas lacking specialized veterinary services. Notably, the platform does not charge commissions from veterinarians, allowing them to retain 100% of their earnings.
  • Integration of IoT in Pet Care: The startup is also exploring IoT-driven solutions to monitor pets’ health metrics continuously, aiming to detect potential health issues before they escalate, thereby promoting preventive care.

Addressing Challenges in Pet Healthcare

With a growing pet population in India, estimated at over 38 million, access to timely and affordable veterinary care remains a challenge. MimiBowBow’s innovations address this gap by providing tools that facilitate early detection of health issues, reduce the need for frequent clinic visits, and empower pet owners with actionable health insights.

Future Outlook

MimiBowBow envisions a future where advanced technologies like AI and IoT are seamlessly integrated into everyday pet care routines. By continuing to innovate and expand their offerings, the startup aims to set new standards in pet healthcare, ensuring that pets across India receive the care they deserve.
