Xbattery Raises $2.3M Seed Round to Build Indigenous Battery Management Systems

Deep-tech startup Xbattery, focused on advanced energy storage solutions, has raised $2.3 million in a Seed funding round led by the Bipin Patel Family Office, with participation from Jhaveri Credits. The capital will be deployed towards R&D, hardware sourcing, hiring, and scaling prototypes for commercialization and early orders.

Indigenous Battery Innovation

Founded in 2024 by Satish Reddy, Sonu Mishra, and Varshith Rao, Xbattery is developing high-voltage Battery Management Systems (BMS) and advanced battery packs for both electric vehicles (EVs) and grid-scale storage applications. Its flagship product, the BharatBMS, is capable of managing up to 800V systems, offering a critical alternative to imported BMS technologies.

By designing not only the battery packs but also the supporting software and electronics, Xbattery positions itself as a full-stack energy storage provider—enhancing safety, efficiency, and lifecycle performance for EVs and stationary storage.

Strategic Importance

India currently sources much of its BMS technology from abroad, often at high cost. By creating a Made in India BMS platform, Xbattery hopes to reduce import dependency, align with national clean energy ambitions, and support the country’s transition to 50% renewable energy generation by 2030.

Founder’s Take

“Self-reliance in battery electronics is critical for India, and the market is bigger than people think,” said Satish Reddy, Founder & CEO of Xbattery. “Because this is deeptech, it requires serious investment in R&D. This funding will help us bring our tech to market and start fulfilling initial orders.”

Outlook

Xbattery plans to first address domestic demand for robust BMS systems, before expanding globally with exports to Europe and North America. With electrification and grid storage accelerating, the startup’s indigenous solutions may give India a stronger foothold in the global clean energy ecosystem.
