Defence tech startup Unmannd, which develops autonomous drones and defence systems, has secured $2 million in a funding round led by Speciale Invest and Accel.
Unmannd’s core offerings include Titan, an aerial logistics drone platform that carries supplies, and Fury, an interceptor system designed to detect hostile drones and neutralize them. The new capital will support the transition of Fury from a proof-of-concept stage to a market-ready solution, accelerate the commercialization of Titan, expand engineering capabilities, and explore export opportunities.
Founded in early 2025 by Yeshwanth Reddy and Hemaditya Prasad, the Bengaluru-based startup is qualified to supply drones to India’s defence forces. The company claims that Titan has completed development and has already gained qualification from Indian defence agencies.
Unmannd’s Fury system operates by detecting enemy drones from distances of up to 30 kilometres and deploying small, high-speed interceptor drones that fly at around 300 km/h to neutralize threats.
Speaking about the funding, Reddy noted that the firm is preparing to compete for several contracts in the Indian defence sector. Prashanth Prakash, a partner at Accel, commented on the broader trend: “The defense industry is undergoing its most significant transformation in decades … systems that learn, adapt, and make independent decisions will define the next generation of defense technology.”
The space for drone innovation has been attracting investor interest globally. The funding of Unmannd marks another validation for defence startups focusing on autonomy, robotics, and aerial systems in India.
