Sustainable waste management startup EcoEx has raised $4 million in a seed funding round co-led by Dovetail Global Fund PCC, Navbharat Investment Fund, and Narnolia Velox Fund, with additional participation from other investors. The fresh capital will be deployed to enhance technology, recruit talent, expand operations, and strengthen clean technology solutions as the company scales its Waste Commodity App, EcoEx said in a press release.
Empowering Ethical Waste Management
Founded in 2020 by Nimit Aggarwal and Akshaya Rath, EcoEx provides end-to-end solutions in waste collection, EPR services, and waste commodity trading. Through technology tools such as EPR Pro, a B2B e-marketplace, and mobile applications, bulk waste generators and certified recyclers can conduct transactions that ensure ethical disposal while staying compliant with regulatory norms.
“Our goal is to transform waste into both a climate and economic opportunity. We are on track to cross $20 million in transaction value in FY25–26,” said Nimit Aggarwal, founder and Director of EcoEx.
Technology-Driven Efficiency
EcoEx’s mobile app allows real-time tracking of waste collection, secure digital payments, and e-auctions for waste commodities. Since its launch, over 3,000 recyclers and collectors across India have joined the platform. Additionally, the company has helped producers and importers of bulk waste (PIBOs) secure more than 1 million metric tonnes of EPR credits through CPCB-certified recyclers.
Market Outlook
The sustainable waste management sector in India is attracting growing attention, with players like Recykal and Recircle competing to provide digital-first solutions. EcoEx’s focus on integrating technology with regulatory compliance and ethical disposal practices positions it as a key player in the country’s evolving circular economy.
With the new funding, EcoEx aims to broaden its footprint across India, refine its technology platform, and strengthen partnerships with recyclers and bulk waste generators to drive a more efficient, accountable, and scalable waste management ecosystem.
