Meta, the global tech conglomerate led by Mark Zuckerberg, has announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as the new Managing Director and Head of Meta India, effective July 1, 2025. The move comes at a time when India stands as Meta’s largest user market globally, spanning over a billion users across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
This leadership transition follows the elevation of Sandhya Devanathan, Meta’s current India head, to a broader role as Vice President for India and Southeast Asia. Srinivas will now report directly to Devanathan and take charge of integrating Meta’s business, innovation, and revenue functions in India.

Arun Srinivas has been with Meta since 2020, initially joining as Head of the Global Business Group in India. He later went on to lead Meta’s Ads Business in India from 2022, where he played a pivotal role in scaling strategic partnerships and growing Meta’s advertising revenue.
In his new role, Srinivas will:
- Lead Meta India’s business operations
- Drive revenue and innovation
- Strengthen partnerships with top brands, developers, and advertisers
- Oversee AI, WhatsApp for Business, and Reels growth initiatives

📈 Meta’s Strong Financial Performance in India
India continues to be a strategic growth engine for Meta. In FY24, Meta India reported:
- Net profit of ₹504.93 crore, up 43% YoY
- Operational revenue of ₹3,034.8 crore, up 9.3% YoY
- Gross ad revenue of ₹22,730.7 crore, up from ₹18,308 crore in FY23
India is also one of the largest markets for Meta AI adoption and developer engagement on its open-source Llama language models.
