New Delhi, July 10, 2025 — Audio streaming platform Pocket FM has filed a lawsuit against rival Kuku FM, operated by Mebigo Labs, alleging unauthorized replication of its original audio series. The Delhi High Court has been petitioned for damages amounting to ₹85.7 crore and a permanent injunction to prevent further use of the disputed content.
Pocket FM accuses Kuku FM of systematically copying five of its popular series—Super Yoddha, Insta Empire, Amrapali, Vashikaran, and The Immortal Warrior—over a span of four years. The allegations encompass replication of show titles, episode formats, thumbnails, and promotional materials, purportedly to mislead listeners and divert Pocket FM’s audience.
In response, Kuku FM has denied the allegations, asserting that the contested series are products of independent research and creativity. The company has requested two weeks to file a detailed reply and contends that the lawsuit is strategically timed to undermine its reputation amid ongoing fundraising efforts.
The Delhi High Court has issued an interim order restraining Kuku FM from releasing new episodes of the five disputed series until the next hearing, scheduled for August 29. Additionally, Kuku FM has been directed to submit a Chartered Accountant-certified report detailing revenues generated from the contested series.
This legal confrontation is the latest in a series of disputes between the two platforms, both established in 2018 and competing in India’s burgeoning regional audio content market. Previous legal actions have included allegations of content duplication and trademark infringements.
