The Wealth Company Asset Management Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Mumbai-based Pantomath Group, has launched a new ₹2,000 crore real estate-focused fund, Bharat Bhoomi Fund, under the broader Bharat Value Fund (BVF) umbrella. This marks a strategic expansion into the physical asset space, aligned with India’s accelerating infrastructure-led growth and increasing institutional interest in real estate.
Key Highlights of Bharat Bhoomi Fund
- The fund is structured as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).
- It includes a ₹1,000 crore base corpus with a ₹1,000 crore greenshoe option, targeting institutional and family office investors.
- The focus is on yield-generating, land-based, and infrastructure assets across India’s key growth corridors.
A Strategic Pivot from Pre-IPO to Real Assets
- Unlike previous Bharat Value Fund initiatives, which concentrated on late-stage, pre-IPO investments under the India Inflection Opportunity Trust (IIOT), this fund pivots to real estate and infrastructure investments.
- The core idea revolves around “real assets with real outcomes”, reflecting India’s transformation across infrastructure, digital, and sustainability-linked sectors.
Expert Leadership and Advisory Board
- The fund is led by Rakesh Kumar, a seasoned real estate expert with over 50,000 transactions and executive roles at Shell, Walmart, and Reliance.
- Bhavya Bagrecha, with a track record of managing over ₹2,500 crore in institutional real estate transactions and pioneering India’s first REIT-style structure, joins as a key leader.
- The advisory board features Peter Sharp, former head of Walmart’s real estate operations in Asia, with 35+ years of global experience.
