What started as a research project inside IIIT-Bangalore has today evolved into one of India’s most influential travel-tech ventures. TripGain, a unified Travel & Expense (T&E) platform, is redefining how enterprises manage travel, finance, and compliance on a global scale.
A System Waiting to Be Fixed
In 2014, corporate travel in India was fundamentally broken. Bookings sat with travel agencies, expense claims with finance teams, and compliance in scattered documents. Employees spent days seeking approvals, while CFOs lacked real-time visibility into where money was going.
TripGain’s founding team engineers with over 15 years of travel-tech experience saw the disconnect. They envisioned a world where travel bookings, expense management, and financial systems were not separate processes, but parts of one intelligent, automated engine.
Turning Vision into a Platform
The team began building what would launch as TripGain in 2019. The platform brought all stakeholders employees, admins, and CFOs onto a single screen. Every flight or hotel booking automatically generated an expense entry, applied corporate policy, and synced with ERP systems like SAP and Oracle in real time.
It wasn’t just digitization. It was reengineering the operating system of enterprise travel.
Scaling Through Chaos
When the pandemic halted global travel, most travel companies froze operations. TripGain chose to rebuild. It deepened integrations with HRMS, ERP, banking, and card networks, and automated reimbursements and compliance. When travel resumed, TripGain emerged not as a booking tool, but as the financial backbone for business mobility.
Today, it powers over $1 billion in annual travel value, serving sectors from technology and manufacturing to BFSI. Its presence now spans India, the UK, US, and UAE.
The AI-Led Future
TripGain is now evolving into an AI-first platform with predictive savings, copilots, and self-driving approval workflows.
From a classroom prototype to a global enterprise platform, TripGain is proof of India’s SaaS maturity and a reminder that when technology listens to the traveler, travel becomes intelligent, efficient, and effortless.
